Park County Sheriff 1920-1926 Daniel William Denny

The South Park City Museum is a outdoor recreation of a 1800-early 1900's mining town. This must see, is located in Fairplay, Park county, Colorado.

Fairplay Colorado was first named Fair Play by the miners that discovered Gold there. The town of Fairplay was called South Park City from 1869 to 1874 when its former name was restored to Fairplay.

The "Denny house" as it is recognized; is one of the only museum buildings resting at its original location.
Daniel William Denny was a Park County Sheriff, miner, rancher, and blacksmith. While Mrs Charlotte Denny (Dan's wife) was the daughter of Anson Alanzo Allen one of the first settlers in the Tarryall River Valley at Mountiandale, Colorado.

Though their personal history does not fit within the museum's time criteria, and therefore their lives are not documented at the museum. If you are interested in Dan Denny's life, his blacksmith shop and residence at Fairplay; it is nice to visit his and Charlotte's home there.
